Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Sherry Rehman and Nayyar Bukhari visited PIMS Hospital to offer condolences to the families affected by the tragic incident.

Speaking to the media, Sherry Rehman expressed deep sorrow over the incident, saying the entire nation is grieving.

She said distressed mothers were asking why the bodies of their loved ones were not being handed over and why some victims could not be identified.

“We have not come here for politics,” Sherry Rehman said, stressing that serious questions had been raised about the arrangements at the hospital. She questioned why the hospital gates were closed, why water was unavailable and why doctors were reportedly not present when they were needed.

Nayyar Bukhari also questioned the hospital’s management, saying even basic arrangements, including gas cylinders, were reportedly not properly maintained.

He called for the PIMS administration to be questioned and demanded a proper inquiry into the incident.
