Azeri woman Diana declares rape-accused innocent, seeks case dismissal

A significant development has emerged in the alleged gang-rape case in Lahore involving Diana, a woman from Azerbaijan. In a video statement, she has declared accused Ahmed Tanveer innocent and appealed for the case to be dropped.

In the video statement circulating on social media, Diana says Ahmed Tanveer did not sexually assault her or snatch her mobile phones. She described her earlier statements regarding the alleged assault as a result of pressure. In the video, she also appealed to the relevant authorities to dismiss the case.

At the beginning of her statement, Diana referred to October 9, suggesting that the video may have been recorded a few days earlier.

According to reports, Diana has also declared Ahmed Tanveer innocent through documents submitted via the Azerbaijani Embassy.

Meanwhile, police arrested Ahmed Tanveer outside the court despite the fact that he had been granted interim bail until October 27.

In another video, Diana also stated that Ahmed Tanveer had not forced himself on her. She alleged that she had wanted to appear before the court in person but was told that her life was in danger and that she was forcibly sent out of Pakistan.

In addition to declaring Ahmed Tanveer innocent, Diana said in the video that she had also forgiven the two other accused, Mohsin and Ali Zain. She further stated that she did not wish to pursue the matter any further and requested that her name not be used in other people's personal disputes.

It is worth noting that a foreign woman identified as Diana came to public attention unexpectedly in the last week of September, claiming that she had been subjected to an alleged gang rape in Lahore.
