Trump considers fresh Iran strike as war tensions rise

US President Donald Trump has suggested the United States could launch another military operation against Iran, as the conflict approaches its eight-month mark.

“We may do another little Epic Fury,” Trump told a rally in Florida, referring to the US military’s name for its campaign against Iran. He did not provide further details.

Trump said Washington could end the war quickly but questioned whether it should pursue an immediate conclusion or allow the conflict to wind down gradually.

His comments come after he offered varying timelines for ending the fighting, while recently suggesting the war would end “one way or the other.”

Separately, Axios reported that US intelligence had identified a sharp increase in Iranian efforts to target American officials in the Middle East and elsewhere, with some alleged plots reaching advanced stages.

The report also linked the intelligence concerns to reductions in US embassy staffing in the UAE, Lebanon, Qatar and Jordan. The memo reportedly did not identify specific targets or provide details of the alleged plots.
