Fake medicines alert issued in Punjab as DRAP flags eye drops, hormone drugs

The sale of counterfeit medicines at medical stores in Punjab has been uncovered, prompting the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan to issue an emergency alert for sixدوية and order immediate action.
Various types of eye drops available at pharmacies were found to be fake, including those used for treating glaucoma and cataracts.
According to DRAP, laboratory testing confirmed that these eye drops were ineffective, posing a serious risk to patients’ eyesight.
Similarly, three medicines related to women’s health and pregnancy were also identified as counterfeit, along with a drug used to treat fungal infections.
