The Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government said its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group towards Saudi Arabia’s southern region.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki announced the interception in a statement, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), without disclosing the missile’s intended target or reporting casualties.
The coalition also reported intercepting and destroying a Houthi-launched unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) targeting the southern region in a separate statement.
The latest incidents come amid escalating cross-border hostilities involving the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.
