Mohammad Amir registers for Afghanistan Premier League as UK national

Pakistan’s former fast bowler Mohammad Amir has registered for the upcoming Afghanistan Premier League (APL) as a British national, according to media reports.

Amir, 34, became a UK citizen after receiving his British passport, allowing him to register for the tournament without requiring a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

He has been listed as a UK national in the Platinum category of the draft, with Pakistan mentioned as his country of residence.

Citing sources, the reports said that the PCB has decided not to issue NOCs to Pakistani players for participation in the APL.

However, media reports suggest that several Pakistani players have registered for the APL players’ draft, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (November 3).

As a British citizen, Amir does not require the PCB’s NOC to participate in the league.
