Pakistan ended their Hong Kong Sixes 2026 campaign with the Plate trophy after an 18-run victory over Oman in Sunday's final at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok.

The six-time champions could not progress to the main trophy competition after losing their opening Group C match against the UAE. Their subsequent victory over India was not enough to secure qualification, as the UAE advanced after beating the Men in Blue.

Captain Abbas Afridi was Pakistan's standout performer in the Plate final, smashing 73 runs from just 16 balls to help his side set Oman a target of 155. His innings included 11 sixes and a four.

Pakistan's other major contributions came from Abdul Samad, who scored 26 off five deliveries, and Ahmed Daniyal, who added 25 from the same number of balls. Muhammad Shahzad made 13 off four deliveries, while Khawaja Nafay scored seven. Irfan Niazi was dismissed without scoring.

Oman mounted a strong chase through an opening stand between Usman Ali and Zohaib Amanat, but their efforts could not take the team across the line. Usman struck 67 from 17 balls, while Amanat made 61 off 18 deliveries. Both batters hit eight sixes apiece.

The chase ended at 136-4, leaving Oman 18 runs short. Captain Aamir Kaleem was run out for a duck by Ahmed Daniyal, while Sami Hassan, Shafiq Jan and Muzahir Khan were retired out as Oman attempted to keep its leading batters at the crease.

Pakistan's route to the Plate final began with a defeat against the UAE, who chased down a target of 107 after the Green Shirts had posted 106-3. Afridi had made 53 from 13 balls in that match, but Khalid Shah's 71 off 20 deliveries guided the UAE to victory.

The Pakistan side returned to winning ways against India, chasing a target of 89 in just 3.5 overs. Nafay struck 41 from 12 balls, while Afridi contributed an unbeaten 35 off eight deliveries as Pakistan won by eight wickets.

However, the UAE's victory over India confirmed its place in the main trophy competition, leaving Pakistan to contest the Plate title.

The Green Shirts then swept aside hosts Hong Kong in the second Plate semi-final. They chased down 107 without losing a wicket, with Afridi hitting an unbeaten 55 from 13 balls to secure a place in the final.
