The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Wednesday announced a 16-day extension for filing income tax returns for the 2025 tax year, allowing taxpayers to submit their returns until October 31.

Previously, the FBR had extended the deadline to October 15 following requests from trade bodies, taxpayers, and tax bar associations. The latest extension provides additional time for compliance ahead of the final submission date.

Earlier this month, the FBR also removed the “estimated market value” column from the 2025 income tax return form, following directions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as part of measures to facilitate taxpayers.

The authority urged individuals and businesses to complete their filings within the revised timeline to avoid penalties.
