Donald Trump says US could end war with Iran soon

US President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States could bring the war with Iran to an end soon. He also assured that the issue concerning Starlink services in Ukraine would be resolved and discussed ongoing efforts to reach a trade agreement with Canada.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday before departing for Florida, President Trump said the United States could end the war with Iran very soon. However, he said Washington would have to decide whether to end the war immediately or allow it to gradually wind down.

Commenting on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, President Trump claimed that oil shipments were continuing through the waterway and that the United States was getting everything it wanted.

Addressing restrictions on access to and the speed of the Starlink communications system in Ukraine, the US president said he would ensure the issue was resolved if any problems remained.

He said he had not yet spoken to Elon Musk, the head of SpaceX, about the matter but would contact him if necessary.

Describing Musk as a fair-minded person, Trump said he would not do anything wrong. He added that the situation was unusual because the government was discussing the matter with a private company.

Ukrainian officials said on Friday that restrictions on Starlink's internet speeds in the country remained in place. Their statement contradicted Trump's earlier claim that Starlink services had been fully restored.

According to the report, restrictions on Starlink service speeds in Ukraine have been in effect since October 13.

Meanwhile, tensions between Kyiv and Washington have also increased.

Separately, speaking about trade negotiations with Canada, Trump said Canada was making every effort to reach an agreement with the United States.

However, he claimed that the United States held all the leverage in the negotiations.

The Canadian government did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump's statement.
