Pakistan on Friday announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day International series against Australia, scheduled to be played from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to captain the side, while Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim have been recalled after missing the ODI series against Bangladesh in March.
The PCB said Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas and Rohail Nazir are the three uncapped players included in the squad for the series.
Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir have been selected as the two wicketkeeper-batters after Usman Khan was ruled out due to illness.
The board added that Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were not considered for selection as both players continue rehabilitation from injuries under the supervision of the PCB medical panel.
The squad will assemble in Islamabad on Friday before beginning training sessions from Saturday under the coaching staff.
Australia’s team is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Saturday and will also hold practice sessions at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ahead of the series.
