Nine terrorists were killed in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Wadh districts, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces carried out the operations on October 26 after receiving reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan.
In Kachhi, security forces destroyed a terrorist hideout and killed seven militants in an exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain men, the statement said.
In a separate operation in Wadh, security forces tracked and intercepted the movement of terrorists, killing two of them in an exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants, it added.
The ISPR said sanitisation operations are under way to locate and eliminate any other “India-sponsored” terrorists in the area. It added that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision Azm-i-Istehkam would continue to eliminate what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism in the country.
In a statement on X, President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the security forces and praised their professional capabilities.
