FIFA will inspect candidate host cities and stadiums in Spain, Portugal and Morocco in November and December as it moves forward with preparations for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the governing body announced.
The visits will assess stadium readiness, operational plans and supporting infrastructure before FIFA finalises the tournament’s venues.
The planned inspections cover six Moroccan cities: Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier. In Portugal, the delegation will visit Lisbon and Porto, while the Spanish cities include Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Madrid, San Sebastian, Seville and Zaragoza. FIFA said additional locations could also be considered during the selection process.
The delegation will meet local, regional and national authorities, stadium operators, transport officials and accommodation providers to evaluate each candidate venue against FIFA’s hosting requirements.
The allocation and type of matches assigned to each venue will be decided after the host cities are confirmed and tournament scheduling advances.
