The trophy for the upcoming T20 series between Pakistan and New Zealand, set to kick off on January 12, has been unveiled. 

Captains Shaheen Afridi and Kane Williamson were present for the unveiling. The series begins with the first T20 International in Auckland, New Zealand.

According to media reports, Pakistan is contemplating a new strategy for the series. There might be a change in the opening pair, with Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayub expected to open, followed by Babar Azam at number three, Fakhar Zaman at number four, and Azam Khan at five. Iftikhar Ahmed is likely to play at number six.

In terms of historical T20 match statistics between Pakistan and New Zealand, out of 34 matches played so far, Pakistan has won 20, New Zealand has won 13, and one match ended inconclusively.

The full schedule for the Pak-New Zealand series is as follows:

1st T20: January 12, 2024, at Eden Park, Auckland

2nd T20: January 14, 2024, at Seddon Park, Hamilton

3rd T20: January 17, 2024, at University Oval, Dunedin

4th T20: January 19, 2024, at Hagley Oval, Christchurch

5th T20: January 21, 2024, at Hagley Oval, Christchurch

The New Zealand squad consists of Kane Williamson (captain), Dion Conway, Finn Allen, Tim Seifert, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Josh Clarkson, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Ash Sodhi, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne, Ben Sears.

On the other hand the Pakistan squad consists of Shaheen Shah Afridi (captain), Aamir Jamal, Abbas Afridi, Azam Khan, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Wasim Jr., Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan.
