Karachi man shot in neck by robbers drives himself to hospital, dies

A man who was reportedly shot by robbers in Karachi’s North Karachi area died after driving himself to a private hospital while seriously injured, police said.
According to the police, Sabih Siddiqui withdrew Rs700,000 from a bank and was leaving the area when armed robbers allegedly opened fire at him.
He sustained a gunshot wound to the neck but managed to drive to a private hospital in Sector D-11. He died at the hospital gate while undergoing treatment.
The police said that a 9mm pistol was recovered from the victim’s car, suspecting that he may also have fired at the robbers, noting that one shot had been fired from the pistol.
The police are investigating the incident from both robbery and personal-enmity angles, officials said. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
