A Karachi court on Monday dismissed the bail applications of three suspects in a case involving the alleged abduction and assault of young man Ali Jafri in Defence Housing Authority.
Upon hearing the court's decision, suspects Ibrahim Fahad and Ali Faisal managed to flee the premises to avoid their arrest. The interim bail of the third suspect, Irteza, was cancelled due to his absence from the hearing.
Advocate Talha Baloch appeared before the court on behalf of the complainant, Ali Jafri.
According to the court’s order, mobile phones containing videos of the alleged assault were recovered from the two arrested suspects. The suspects have been nominated in the case, while their individual roles will be determined during the investigation, it said.
The court noted that the three suspects have not been arrested due to which they could not be interrogated yet. An FIR was registered at the Sahil police station.
Two suspects, Muhammad Ibrahim Malik and Waqar Ali, were arrested soon after registration of the FIR, while three suspects obtained pre-arrest bail from the sessions court.
