A formal complaint has been submitted to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), alleging tax evasion, financial irregularities, and concealment of income involving family members and close associates of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The complaint filed with the FBR seeks a comprehensive examination and investigation of the assets, bank accounts, business activities, and sources of income of five individuals: Senator Kamran Murtaza, Lutfur Rehman, Ziaur Rehman, Asad Mahmood, and Abrar Ahmed Khan.
The written complaint requests a detailed review of the financial activities of all five individuals named in the application.
The complainant has called for an investigation into financial transactions involving Senator Kamran Murtaza's multiple bank accounts maintained in both local and foreign currencies.
The complaint also seeks an examination of Lutfur Rehman's accounts across various banks and his business activities under applicable tax laws.
Furthermore, the application calls for scrutiny of the bank accounts of Ziaur Rehman and Asad Mahmood to determine the nature and source of allegedly unexplained funds and establish whether any tax evasion has occurred.
The complaint also seeks an investigation into Abrar Ahmed Khan's bank accounts, travel and tourism business, and other related financial transactions.
The complainant has further alleged that financial transactions conducted through various charitable, educational, and commercial organizations associated with these individuals should also be examined to establish the complete financial picture.
The application urges FBR authorities to conduct a comparative assessment of the declared assets, submitted income tax returns, and bank transactions of the individuals named in the complaint.
It further requests an impartial investigation into allegedly undeclared income and suspicious financial transactions, with legal action against the concerned individuals if violations of tax laws are established.
