Six-year-old girl dies after dupatta gets trapped in door outside Karachi home

KARACHI: A six-year-old girl lost her life in the Sachal Ghazi Goth area after her dupatta reportedly got caught in a door while she was playing outside her home, police said.

The child, identified as Amina, was found dead outside a house and later shifted to a hospital after police recovered her body.

According to police, the girl's parents told investigators during initial questioning that she had been playing in the street when her dupatta became trapped in a door. It reportedly tightened around her neck, leading to the incident.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the girl's death and establish how her dupatta became entangled in the door. Authorities said it was too early to conclude whether the incident was purely accidental or involved any other factors.

Police added that the actual cause of death would be established after the post-mortem examination report is received.
