Karachi is set to introduce a smart digital parking system in designated areas as part of efforts to make parking more organised, transparent and convenient for citizens.
The system will feature digital ticketing, cashless payments and real-time information on parking availability.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) plans to roll out the service in phases, with the initiative focused on designated parking zones rather than roadside parking.
The move is expected to help curb illegal parking charges, strengthen monitoring and improve the overall parking experience for citizens. KMC has already approved smart parking zones at several key locations across the city as part of efforts to modernise civic services.
