Karachi: Five star hotel receives Rs10,000 e-challan for car stolen 28 years ago

A five-star hotel in Karachi has received an Rs10, 000 e-challan for a car that was stolen 28 years ago.

According to details, a car owned by a local five-star hotel in Karachi, bearing registration number AAR-540, was stolen in May 1997 from the parking area near Fayyaz Centre on Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The FIR (122/97) was registered at the Saddar Police Station on May 22, 1997, on the complaint of hotel employee Zahid.

In the 28 years since, the police have still not recovered the stolen vehicle. However, last week, the hotel administration received an e-challan of Rs10, 000 issued to the car’s number plate for a traffic rules violation. 

The hotel management has agreed to pay the full fine but on one condition that Karachi police first recover the stolen vehicle.
