Karachi is likely to experience continued hot and humid weather for the remainder of October, with no significant rainfall expected in the immediate future. However, a western weather system approaching Pakistan around October 24–25 could offer a limited possibility of rain if it moves farther south than currently projected.
According to weather updates shared by meteorologist and weather analyst Jawad Memon of Weather Updates PK, temperatures in Karachi are currently running approximately 1–2°C above the October average. Daytime temperatures are generally ranging between 36°C and 39°C, with some areas approaching 40°C.
The combination of high temperatures and elevated humidity has made conditions particularly uncomfortable for residents. Humidity levels are reportedly ranging between 50% and 85%, pushing the feels-like temperature to 40–42°C and, in some areas, as high as 44–45°C.
When will it rain in Karachi?
Karachi residents hoping for rainfall may have to wait a little longer. Current projections indicate that the city is unlikely to receive significant rain during the remainder of October.
A western weather system is expected to approach Pakistan around October 24–25. However, its current projected path does not indicate a substantial chance of rainfall in Karachi or neighbouring areas.
The situation could change if the system shifts farther south towards central Pakistan. In that scenario, moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea could interact with the approaching system, potentially triggering localized weather activity in and around Karachi.
According to the current assessment shared in the weather update, Jawad Memon said the possibility of such developments remains low, at approximately 10–15%. This is a preliminary possibility rather than a confirmed rainfall forecast.
Further clarity is expected as the system approaches and its movement becomes easier to assess.
Karachi Weather Forecast
The current spell of hot weather is expected to continue through most of October.
Memon said temperatures may decrease by approximately 1–2°C during the final week of the month, but Karachi is still likely to experience relatively warm conditions, with daytime temperatures forecast to remain around 35–37°C.
The beginning of November could also remain warmer than usual, with temperatures potentially staying 1–2°C above the seasonal average.
October is generally a dry month in Karachi, when dry winds typically become more prevalent and humidity levels tend to decline. This year, however, repeated western weather systems have reportedly influenced weather patterns across Pakistan, slowing the onset of typical dry conditions in southern coastal areas.
Meanwhile, sea breezes carrying moisture have contributed to high humidity levels, intensifying the discomfort caused by elevated temperatures.
Could Karachi receive rain in November or December?
Although the immediate rainfall outlook remains unfavourable, the longer-range forecast suggests a possibility of one or two significant rainfall spells in Karachi between November 15 and the end of December, said Jawad Memon.
These prospects remain uncertain and will depend on the development of winter weather systems over the coming weeks.
Pakistan experienced a largely dry monsoon season in 2026, making the possibility of winter rainfall particularly significant for southern parts of the country.
However, residents should note that long-range forecasts are subject to change as atmospheric conditions evolve.
