The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has convened a meeting on June 15 to sight the Muharram moon.
The meeting will be held at the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, where committee members will review moon-sighting reports received from across the country before making an official announcement.

Meanwhile, astronomers have predicted that the chances of sighting the Muharram moon on June 15 are extremely low due to the moon's young age.

Experts said the crescent is unlikely to be visible to the naked eye on that date, making it likely that Dhu al-Hijjah will complete 30 days and that 1 Muharram will fall on June 17.

Based on this projection, the 9th and 10th of Muharram (Ashura) are expected to be observed on June 25 and 26, respectively.
