Mehwish Hayat responds to criticism over her attire at Hum Awards

Lollywood star Mehwish Hayat addressed the ongoing debate surrounding celebrities’ poor dressing styles at the recent Hum Awards show held in Houston. Responding to a fan’s comment on Instagram about her attire at the star-studded event, Mehwish clarified why she opted for a simple and traditional look.

A user had asked whether her original outfit for the event had been spoiled, prompting her to wear a different dress. Refuting the speculation, Mehwish explained that her outfit was a deliberate choice.

“I chose to wear our traditional outfit deliberately. It’s my way of representing Pakistan with pride on an international platform,” she said. “Nothing feels or looks more beautiful than our culture,” the actress added.

The Hum Awards ceremony took place in Houston on Saturday, where artists from Pakistan’s entertainment industry gathered to celebrate achievements in film and television.
