ISLAMABAD: The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs1.82 per litre while reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Re0.91 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol will be available at Rs396.65 per litre and HSD at Rs394.94 per litre. The new prices will take effect from October 8, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
The government continues to impose taxes and duties of Rs114 per litre on petrol and Rs100 per litre on diesel.
The latest revision comes amid continued fluctuations in global oil prices linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Authorities have also introduced fuel conservation measures, including reducing official vehicle fuel allocations by 50% for three months and requiring markets to close by 9pm.
