Trump voices support for Türkiye, Pakistan’s military assistance to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has welcomed an agreement between Türkiye and Pakistan to provide military support to Saudi Arabia under a new collective defence arrangement involving the three countries.

The arrangement comes under the newly established Makkah Defence Alliance, aimed at strengthening defence cooperation and coordination among the three countries.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Wednesday before departing for Texas, Trump was asked about Türkiye and Pakistan’s decision to send military forces to Saudi Arabia.

“I think they want to help Saudi Arabia, and I think that’s great,” he said.

The development comes as Saudi Arabia faces heightened regional security concerns, with the three countries moving to strengthen their collective defence mechanisms and military cooperation.
