A US professor has warned that a potential nuclear strike on Iran's nuclear facilities could also have consequences for neighbouring countries, including Pakistan and Afghanistan.
American professor Robert Pape has released a map illustrating the potential impact of a nuclear strike on Iran's Pickaxe Mountain (Kuh-e Kolang). According to the map, radioactive fallout could potentially spread to parts of western and northern Pakistan.
The professor warned that several areas of Afghanistan, including regions bordering Iran, could also be affected. The potential impact could extend to parts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, American journalist Tucker Carlson claimed a day earlier that US President Donald Trump could consider a nuclear strike against Iran under pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Carlson alleged that Netanyahu, facing concerns over the outcome of Israel's elections, was seeking to draw Trump into another confrontation with Iran to overcome his political difficulties.
Carlson further claimed that the Israeli prime minister was putting maximum pressure on his close allies within the Trump administration to secure US support for an attack on Iran.
According to Carlson, conventional US weapons may not be effective in reaching underground tunnel facilities inside Iran's mountainous terrain, potentially bringing the nuclear option into consideration.
He alleged that pressure from Netanyahu could lead the Trump administration to consider a nuclear strike against Iran.
