The stampede at TikToker Muhammad Ansar, popularly known as ‘Mr Patlo’, wedding ceremony, which left one person dead and 18 others injured, has been raised in the Punjab Assembly through a calling-attention notice.
Opposition MPA Nadeem Qureshi submitted the notice, seeking details of the incident and the action taken by the police.
According to the notice, the wedding ceremony was held at Faraz Stadium on Daska Road on October 31. A large crowd gathered and chaos broke out after prizes were announced for distribution, triggering a stampede.
One person was killed and 18 others injured in the incident. A case was registered at the Motra police station in Sialkot on November 1, 2026.
The notice asked whether the organisers had obtained permission from the local administration to hold such a large gathering and, if so, what security arrangements and standard operating procedures (SOPs) had been agreed upon.
It also sought details of the number of suspects arrested so far in connection with the incident.
The opposition member demanded that the House be informed about the police investigation and action taken in the case.
