The Family Court of the District and Sessions Court Islamabad, has issued a decree of khula in favour of Humaira Tayyaba, wife of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed. Family Court Judge Ambreen Iqbal issued the decree after hearing the case.
According to the court, the woman was unwilling to continue her marital relationship with her husband, while reconciliation efforts between the two parties also proved unsuccessful.
During the hearing, the court was informed that several attempts had been made to reconcile the couple. However, despite these efforts, the woman remained unwilling to continue living with her husband.
According to the court, the woman stated in her affidavit that she felt hatred towards her husband and refused to continue living with him. Following the failure of reconciliation efforts, the Family Court granted a decree of khula in favour of Humaira Tayyaba.
While dissolving the marriage on the basis of khula, the court observed that neither party had any outstanding claim against the other regarding Haq Mehr (dower).
The court also dismissed the remaining claims concerning child maintenance, expenses for unmarried daughters, and other requests after they were withdrawn.
The Family Court further directed that a certified copy of the khula decree be sent to the husband and the relevant Union Council.
