KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to continuing action against undocumented Afghan nationals, saying its policy is fully aligned with the federal government's stance.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Kundi said foreigners could not legally reside in Pakistan without valid documentation, adding that Afghans entering the country with proper visas would be welcomed.
He also vowed to continue the anti-encroachment campaign, declaring that no pressure would be accepted to halt operations against illegal structures.
Addressing prolonged power outages in the province, the governor said he would raise the issue with relevant authorities. He stressed that electricity consumers must pay their bills and revealed plans to introduce a system allowing load-shedding at transformer rather than feeder level.
Kundi welcomed a Rs160 billion federal development allocation for K-P, saying 70 per cent would be directed towards historically neglected areas.
He further called for legal action against anyone facing credible corruption allegations, regardless of their position, and pledged to discuss relocating electricity poles obstructing roads with PESCO officials.
