Saudi-led coalition announces strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen’s Hodeidah

The Saudi-led Coalition Joint Forces Command said it carried out airstrikes on Houthi military sites in Yemen's Hodeidah late on Friday.

In a statement, the coalition denied Houthi claims that the Port of Hodeidah had been targeted, saying the strikes were directed only at military sites.

The coalition added that all ports in Hodeidah governorate remain open to maritime traffic.

According to the statement, the destroyed targets were linked to threats against commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The announcement came shortly after a Saudi commercial vessel was attacked in the Red Sea on Friday, marking at least the second reported attack on a Saudi ship this week.
