Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has urged Muslim countries to strengthen regional cooperation in response to Israeli aggression and what he described as US-backed efforts to “divide” the Middle East.
Speaking at a high-level meeting in Tehran attended by Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Türkiye’s intelligence chief, Ibrahim Kalin, Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to contribute fully to promoting unity, security and development among Muslim countries.
During the meeting, the Iranian president strongly condemned Israeli attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and other parts of the region.
Addressing Iran’s nuclear programme, Pezeshkian reiterated that Tehran was not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
However, he stressed that Iran remained firmly committed to its right to continue peaceful nuclear activities under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

Meanwhile, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran would hold no nuclear discussions with the three officials until the United States meets Tehran’s conditions for a permanent end to the war, including lifting the blockade, easing oil sanctions and ending hostilities on all regional fronts.
The United States and Israel waged their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28.
In response, the Iranian armed forces launched decisive retaliatory attacks against US and Israeli assets in the region.
The war came to a halt after 40 days with a ceasefire, which was then formalized in mid-June through the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the presidents of Iran and the United States. Washington has violated the MoU since.
