The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Monday announced that Pakistan will host two ITF W15 Women’s Futures tournaments in Islamabad from October 5, 2026, ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup.

According to the federation, it will be the first time Pakistan hosts two back-to-back ITF W15 tournaments for women, marking a significant development for women’s tennis in the country.

PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi said the events would provide local female players with an opportunity to earn international ranking points and gain competitive exposure without travelling abroad. He added that the tournaments would also help players prepare for the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup.

Several leading and emerging Pakistani players, including Ushna Suhail, Mahin Aftab, Soha Ali, Romaisa Malik and Bismal Zia, are expected to benefit from the initiative.

The Pakistan Women’s Tennis Association said the tournaments would strengthen Pakistan’s standing in international tennis and support the development of women’s tennis. PTF Secretary General Col Zia-ud-Din Tufail described hosting consecutive W15 events as a major achievement for the federation.
