Young man killed in robbery shooting,father refuses burial until killers arrested

KARACHI: The family of 17-year-old Rosham Khan, who was shot dead by suspected robbers during a house robbery near Mehran City in Manghopir, continued their sit-in outside Manghopir Police Station on Tuesday, demanding the immediate arrest of the suspects.

The victim’s father has announced that he will not bury his son until those responsible for his killing are arrested.

According to Express News, Rosham was killed when armed robbers entered a house in the Mehran City area during the intervening night between Monday and Tuesday and opened fire. Following the incident, the victim’s family and local residents brought his body to Manghopir Police Station and staged a protest demanding justice.

Police registered FIR No. 528 of 2026 on the complaint of the victim’s father, Rawaidad Khan, under Sections 302, 324, 457, 397 and 511/34 against unidentified suspects. The case has subsequently been handed over to the investigation police for further proceedings.

The killing has triggered anger among the victim’s family and residents of the area. The protest has continued for more than 12 hours, with demonstrators demanding the immediate arrest of those responsible.

SSP District West, SDPO Manghopir and other police officials met with the victim’s family and protesters, assuring them of their cooperation and efforts to apprehend the suspects.

DSP Manghopir Syed Shakir said negotiations with the victim’s family were ongoing. He said the sit-in had started at 8am on Tuesday and was continuing.

The protesters have warned that they will continue their demonstration until Rosham Khan’s killers are arrested.

Rosham was a Hafiz-e-Quran and a matriculation student. He was the eldest of 10 siblings, including eight sisters and two brothers.
