Security forces killed a militant commander during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah.
According to state-run Radio Pakistan, the commander was identified as Adil Shah, also known as Darvesh. He was affiliated with Fitna al Khwarij.
Security forces are conducting operations against militants in Balochistan under “Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3”.
Citing security sources, Radio Pakistan said that Adil Shah had been associated with the group since December 2020 and had overseen its financial affairs since 2024.
The report also said that he helped arrange permanent accommodation for “foreign terrorists” in Zhob, Sherani and Shaban districts of Balochistan. It added that he had been involved in attacks on security forces and kidnappings for ransom since 2022.
Nineteen first information reports (FIRs) had been registered against the commander, while a bounty of Rs2.5 million had been announced for his arrest, the report said.
Security sources said operations against militants in Balochistan would continue until the last militant was eliminated, according to Radio Pakistan. Balochistan has faced persistent militant violence and security challenges for years.
