Karachi has reported more than 43,000 incidents of street crime, with 60 people killed and 216 injured in robbery-related violence in the first 8 months of 2025.

According to official figures, between January and August 2025, a total of 43,419 street crime cases were registered in the city.

While independent reports suggest 60 fatalities during robbery resistance, police records put the death toll at 53, with 216 others injured.

So far this year, 11,268 mobile phones have been snatched, along with 1,430 cars and 30,721 motorcycles that were either stolen or forcibly taken.

On average, Karachi has recorded 46.37 mobile snatching cases per day, 5.88 vehicle thefts/snatching incidents, and 126.42 motorcycle theft/snatching cases daily.

In comparison, during the first eight months of 2024, Karachi reported 49,615 street crime incidents, with 78 citizens killed and 310 injured during robbery resistance.

Last year, 13,406 mobile phones, 1,342 cars, and 34,867 motorcycles were stolen or snatched in the same period.
