Karachi girl killing: Police probe continues after suspect killed in 'encounter'

Police are continuing to investigate the kidnapping and murder of a six-year-old girl in the jurisdiction of Jackson Police Station, where FIR No. 265/2026 has been registered under Sections 364-A and 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Investigators have examined CCTV footage from several locations and reviewed other available evidence as part of the ongoing inquiry.

During the investigation, police received information about the suspected location of a person believed to be connected to the case.

Following the lead, a police team reached Street Mubarak Mosque in the Sea Side area, which falls within the limits of Jackson Police Station.

According to the preliminary police account, the suspect allegedly opened fire upon noticing the officers. Police responded to the attack, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

The suspect sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and was later pronounced dead.

Police cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the scene in accordance with legal procedures. Authorities said a separate case related to the encounter is being registered at Jackson Police Station, while forensic examinations and other legal formalities are underway.

Officials said the investigation into the child's kidnapping and murder remains active. Detectives are continuing to analyze CCTV footage, medico-legal reports, forensic findings, technical data, and other available evidence.

Police are also working to formally establish the identity of the deceased and determine whether he was involved in the kidnapping and murder, based on the evidence gathered during the investigation.

Authorities said additional information will be released once the investigation, forensic analysis, and legal verification process have been completed.
