Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday said that the Pakistan Armed Forces are going through a major transformation in various domains, with technology changing the future shape of warfare, as per the military’s media wing.

“The character of war has witnessed a massive change, with technological advancements leading to this change, which is dictating a huge mental shift at all levels. In the future, technological moves will replace physical moves and will completely change the way offensive and defensive actions are conducted. Therefore, the Pakistan Armed Forces are embracing and absorbing technology at a very fast pace. In this pursuit, innovation, indigenisation, and adaptation will remain the basics,” he said.

This was said during his visit to Bahawalpur Garrison, where he was briefed on the operational, training, and administrative affairs of the Corps, with a special emphasis on the preparations for multi-domain warfare, as per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army chief also observed a high-intensity field exercise, “Steadfast Resolve,” at Khairpur Tamewali (KPT). The exercise demonstrated the synergistic use of niche technologies such as unmanned aerial systems (drones), advanced surveillance systems, electronic warfare, and modern command and control systems, which is in line with the emphasis of the Armed Forces on technology-enabled multi-domain operations.

While addressing the troops, the COAS and CDF appreciated the troops’ high morale, professional acumen, and readiness for operations. He reiterated that the Pakistan Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country against all threats and reiterated the need to maintain optimum readiness to face future challenges on the battlefield.
