Domestic worker arrested for stealing jewellery worth Rs3.7 million from a house

A domestic worker has been arrested for stealing jewellery worth Rs3.7 million from a house in Rawalpindi.

According to Rawalpindi police, the woman was taken into custody on suspicion of theft, and gold jewellery worth more than Rs3.7 million was recovered from her possession.

Police said the recovered jewellery was handed over to the complainant.

The suspect had reportedly joined the household as a domestic worker a few days earlier before allegedly fleeing after committing the theft. She was arrested following an investigation involving multiple sources.

Police added that raids were being conducted to arrest her accomplice.
