Accused arrested in Surjani Town murd*r case k!lled in police encounter

KARACHI: Police said the accused, who was arrested earlier on Thursday, confessed during interrogation to the murder of a woman and her three children.

According to DIG West, the accused was being taken to Surjani town in order to recover the alleged murder weapon when he attempted to snatch a firearm from a police officer and tried to escape.

The accused allegedly opened fire on the police, injuring Assistant Sub Inspector(ASI) Noman Sheikh.

Police retaliated, killing the accused at the scene.

Further legal proceedings are underway, police said.
