A day after the cowardly attack on Chinese nationals in Shangla, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir on Wednesday vowed to fight against the terrorists with full force.

At least six people, including five Chinese engineers and one Pakistani driver, were killed in a suicide attack on their convoy in Besham city of Shangla on Tuesday.

Following the attack, a high-level security meeting was held today (March 27), chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The premier, in the meeting, underscored the urgent need for a regional strategy to counter terrorism, expressing grave concerns over terrorist sanctuaries operating across borders.

The Army Chief reiterated the determination of the armed forces to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.

COAS said that the nation has steadfastly fought against terrorism in the last two decades.

"The nation has thwarted the nefarious intentions of Pakistan's enemies, we will fight against terrorism till the end of the last terrorist," he said in the meeting.

"Will fight till the end of every terrorist who casts an evil eye on Pakistan's guests," the top armyman added.

The army chief further stated that the enemies have "once again underestimated the steadfastness and courage of the state and the people of Pakistan."
