The Mir Raza judicial commission on Thursday said that it would make public the replies received from Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Azad Khan and DIGs Amir Farooqi and Dr Farukh Lanjar to questions raised by the victim’s family.

“As conveyed in an earlier order, for transparency, the Commission will make the replies public,” the commission said in its written order. It said that the registrar would provide a copy of each reply to the family of the deceased and the focal person of the provincial government.

The investigating officer informed the commission that the police could not obtain crucial CCTV footage from Masjid-e-Khizra because the mosque had no electricity from 5pm to 10pm on July 28, 2026.

However, the commission noted, K-Electric in its reply confirmed that the mosque had a continuous supply of electricity throughout this period. “No faults, load shedding, tripping, outage or interruption were reported,” it added.

Regarding the family’s request to make its findings public, Justice Omar Sial, who headed the commission, said that the panel was formed at the request of the provincial government. “I believe that it is the Government of Sindh who should decide whether to make it public or not. The request is therefore declined.”
