ISLAMABAD: MNA Sher Afzal Marwat has claimed that the federal government has completed preparations for imposing an emergency, according to information available to him.
Marwat said the decision to impose an emergency would depend on the number of people participating in the ongoing long march. He also claimed that Ikhtiyar Wali could be given a role in a proposed council for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said both sides were seeking confirmation over whether the other would actually take to the streets.
Marwat further claimed that names of political figures and bureaucrats for the proposed council had already been finalised if an emergency were imposed.
According to Marwat, meetings were being held behind the scenes, while PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar had also held a meeting two days earlier.
Commenting on KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Marwat said Afridi would have to face the consequences of actions he allegedly took at the behest of others. He added that he had filed a petition concerning Afridi on principle.
Marwat said that if the other side did not appear by October 15, he would not believe their statements. He also spoke about his expulsion from PTI, questioning what his fault had been over the past three years and claiming that he had also faced abuse.
