Swat suicide bombing: CTD registers terrorism case

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) under anti-terrorism provisions in connection with the suicide bombing that struck Swat a day earlier.

According to the FIR, the case has been registered at the CTD police station on the complaint of the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kabal police station.

The FIR states that a protest organised by the Pasoon organisation was underway at Kabal Chowk when the incident occurred.

The demonstration began at 4:00 p.m., while the explosion took place at 6:04 p.m. near the main gate of Kabal police station.

The document says the blast resulted in the deaths and injuries of a large number of police personnel and civilians.

According to the FIR, initial suspicion points towards the involvement of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), including commander Muzaffar and other militants.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible.
