Ashley Noffke resigns as Pakistan’s white-ball bowling coach

Former Australia cricketer Ashley Noffke has resigned as Pakistan’s white-ball bowling coach after around 16 months in the role, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said.

Noffke informed the PCB of his decision to step down and is expected to remain involved with the Pakistan team for the 2026 Asian Games. Pakistan’s men’s side will enter the competition at the quarter-final stage on September 28.

The former Australian pacer has also held discussions over a potential coaching position with an associate nation.

The PCB has started the process of appointing Noffke’s replacement and advertised the vacancy. Candidates must hold Level 3 cricket coaching accreditation and have at least five years of coaching experience. Applications will remain open until October 8.

Noffke was appointed Pakistan’s white-ball bowling coach in May 2025 as part of the coaching setup headed by Mike Hesson.

He was later given additional responsibility as interim Test bowling coach during Pakistan’s tour of England in September 2026 following changes to the team management.

Noffke replaced Umar Gul as bowling coach after Pakistan lost the first two Tests against England at Headingley and Lord’s. Pakistan subsequently lost the third Test by eight wickets, completing a 3-0 series defeat.
