Investigations in the deadly suicide bombing at Imambargah in Tarlai Kalan, Islamabad have made significant progress, arresting two brothers and a brother-in-law of the attacker during a raid on his family home in Peshawar.
According to police sources, the i.d card of the suicide bomber was recovered from the site of the incident. Based on that official document the attacker has been identified as Yasir, a 32-year-old resident of Peshawar.
In a search operation, the CTD of Peshawar raided Yasir’s residence, detaining his two brothers, Bilal and Nasir, and his brother-in-law, Usman. Authorities said there were communications between Yasir and his brother-in-law prior to the attack, and further questioning is ongoing.
Initial investigations indicate Yasir spent several months in Afghanistan, where he reportedly received training in the use of weapons and suicide bombing techniques before returning to Pakistan in mid-2025.
Security and investigation teams are now conducting raids in Peshawar and Nowshera to identify possible partners, facilitators and the wider network behind the attack.
Police officials said they expect to uncover additional critical evidence that could clarify planning and support behind the deadly attack.
