Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs said on Tuesday that around 80 per cent of the country’s private Hajj quota for 2027 had been booked, leaving only 15,000 seats available for intending pilgrims.

The ministry said private Hajj bookings gained momentum following the October 20 deadline for depositing the second instalment under the government’s Hajj scheme.

According to the ministry, private Hajj pilgrims have deposited Rs57.5 billion towards their payments. Of the total, Rs30 billion was received through the One Link PSID system and bank cards, while Rs27.5 billion was deposited through manual bank challans.

The ministry clarified that the cost of sacrificial animals, set at Rs55,000 per pilgrim, has already been included in the private Hajj packages for this year.

With the number of available seats dwindling, the ministry urged intending pilgrims to complete their bookings as soon as possible through the Pak Hajj App or the official Hajj portal.

It also advised applicants to make payments exclusively through these authorised platforms, warning that it would not be responsible for funds transferred directly to individuals or companies.

The ministry urged pilgrims to use only officially approved payment channels to avoid potential financial losses.
