Pakistani passport slips to 101st in global ranking; Yemen moves ahead

Pakistan's passport has dropped one place to 101st in the latest Henley Passport Index, making it the fourth weakest passport in the world.

The index ranks 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can enter without obtaining a visa in advance, including countries offering visa-free entry or visas on arrival.

According to the latest rankings, Pakistani passport holders can now access 29 destinations without a prior visa or by obtaining a visa on arrival, down from 30 in May. The decline caused Pakistan's ranking to fall from 100th to 101st.

The Henley Passport Index shows that Pakistan has remained among the world's lowest-ranked passports since 2021. Only Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan rank below it, while Yemen has moved one place ahead with access to 30 destinations.

This year, Cape Verde, Mozambique and Qatar stopped offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to Pakistani passport holders, contributing to the decline.

The ranking has fluctuated throughout the year. Pakistan stood 97th in February with access to 32 destinations, slipped to 98th in March and 100th in May before falling to 101st in the latest update.

At the top of the index, Singapore retained the world's most powerful passport with visa-free access to 192 destinations. Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates shared second place with access to 188 destinations, while Sweden ranked third with 187.
