ESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday confirmed that he has received the handwritten resignation of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, officially acknowledging its receipt at 2:30 pm on October 11.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the governor stated: “Today at 2:30 pm, the handwritten resignation advice of the CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was duly received and acknowledged by Governor House.”
Governor Kundi further said that the resignation would be processed in accordance with the law and constitutional procedure.
“After thorough scrutiny and legal formalities as per the Constitution and relevant laws, the subject resignation will be processed in due course of time,” he added.
According to official sources, the resignation was delivered by the chief minister’s special assistant, Mussadiq Abbasi, and received by the Governor House staff, with the time of receipt recorded on an acknowledgement slip.
Reiterating that all actions would follow constitutional norms, Governor Kundi said: “All decisions will be made as per the Constitution and law.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders held a late-night meeting on Friday at the Speaker’s House to deliberate on the political and constitutional implications of Gandapur’s resignation.
Sources said the meeting discussed possible scenarios following the chief minister’s departure and considered summoning a session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly to determine the next steps.
