MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Kashmir Minister for Electricity Raja Saqib Majeed has said Pakistan’s role under the Makkah Agreement, including the deployment of its military personnel at the Holy Mosques, reflects growing international confidence in the country and its armed forces.
Speaking to the media in Muzaffarabad on Tuesday, Majeed said the development demonstrated Pakistan’s expanding strategic and diplomatic significance while highlighting the professionalism and capabilities of the Pakistan Army under Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He said Pakistan had emerged not only as a strong military power but also as a country committed to peace, stability and responsible engagement in the international community.
Majeed praised the army’s training, discipline, modern defence capabilities and decision-making skills, saying these qualities had strengthened Pakistan’s standing as a credible military power.
He said Pakistan’s role under the Makkah Agreement reflected the international trust placed in the country and its armed forces, adding that the army had demonstrated its ability to contribute to regional peace and stability.
The minister said Pakistan’s armed forces remained key to safeguarding the country’s national security, sovereignty and dignity, while their sacrifices and professional expertise had earned Pakistan a prominent position among major defence powers.
Majeed described Pakistan’s role under the agreement as a matter of national pride, saying it could further strengthen the country’s diplomatic influence, international credibility and overall stature.
He also said the Makkah Agreement had brought Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia closer, describing the three countries as being like “three brothers.”
