PESHAWAR/KOHAT: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Tuesday announced that the PTI’s long march would take a revised route, heading towards Khyber before proceeding to Peshawar.

Addressing protesters at University Chowk in Kohat on the third day of the march, Afridi said the route change was part of the party’s strategy.

He compared the protest to a Test match, saying there was still plenty of time and many participants remained involved.

The chief minister also recalled the earlier postponement of the march from September 27 to October 4, saying the authorities had reacted strongly to the change and were now concerned about how long the protest would continue.

Afridi said the march would eventually move towards Islamabad once the PTI decided to proceed, asserting that no one would be able to stop the protesters when the party announced its move towards the capital.
