Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmakers chanted slogans in favour of former prime minister Imran Khan during the address of President Asif Ali Zardari in the joint sitting of the Parliament. 

The house echoed with the slogans of 'free Imran Khan' slogans. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif were also seen on the screen during the protest of PTI. 

President Asif Ali Zardari in his address stressed the need to get the country out of the recent political crisis.

He stressed that differences are over and everyone will have to work together.

“If we move forward together, democracy will be strong,” President Asif Zardari said.

“Everyone has to take a step back,” Zardari stressed to all the political forces in the country as tensions heightened after the February 8 results wherein opposition claimed that results were tempered and came out in favour of the unity government   

Chief Justice of Pakistan, provincial governors, chief ministers, chairman joint chiefs of staff committee, services chiefs, and others were also invited to the joint sitting of the Parliament.
